2. The band saw is installed on the guides and is driven by an electric motor.
3. The saw begins to move along the guides and passes through the workpiece, cutting it into pieces.
4. After cutting is complete, the machine stops and the workpiece is removed from table.

The operator can adjust the saw blade speed, which depends on the type and thickness of the material being cut. The column band saw can also be equipped with an automatic workpiece feed system, which increases the cutting speed and accuracy.
